39 Construction Knowledge Course Description

The Construction Knowledge course will focus on the tools and techniques of common building tasks which will be essential to performing maintenance and repair in the building. Students will learn theoretical knowledge related to tools and their usage for framing windows, doors, and installing locks and door closures. Students learning will focus on walls and pony walls construction methods and techniques, which includes framing studs, and how to install different types of materials and fasteners. This course will also touch on basic plumbing theoretical knowledge, including taps, sinks, toilets, and mixing valves. Students will demonstrate their understanding and skills through on-site performance tasks at their workplace.
